Shannon Sharpe Faces Lawsuit Over Alleged Sexual Assault

Shannon Sharpe Faces Serious Allegations

The Pro Football Hall of Famer and media personality Shannon Sharpe is currently embroiled in a tumultuous legal battle, being accused of sexual assault and battery, alongside claims of intentional infliction of emotional distress.

The lawsuit was filed on Sunday in Clark County, Nevada, with documents obtained by USA TODAY Sports. The plaintiff, who is identified under the alias ‘Jane Doe,’ states that she was in a relationship with Sharpe for nearly two years, which she describes as a rocky consensual relationship that began in 2023.

During this time, the woman alleges that Sharpe, now 56 years of age, sexually assaulted her on two occasions: once in October 2024 and again in January 2025. She is seeking damages totaling $50 million.

‘Sharpe flew into fits of anger when Plaintiff noted his infidelity to their relationship, or called him out about his extraneous activities,’ the lawsuit states. ‘What had once been manipulation, control and intimidation now became something far more dangerous and sinister.’

According to the allegations presented in the lawsuit, Sharpe displayed increasing violence throughout their relationship, even threatening the plaintiff’s life at one point, and recording their sexual encounters without her consent.

Another significant allegation states that on two separate occasions in Las Vegas, during October 2024, Sharpe allegedly ignored her requests to stop and sexually assaulted her despite her evident distress.

Representing ‘Jane Doe’ are attorneys Tony Buzbee and Micah Nash, who previously were involved in securing settlements against NFL quarterback Deshaun Watson related to similar accusations of sexual misconduct.

Sharpe, a three-time Super Bowl champion and host of the podcast ‘Club Shay Shay,’ has also engaged regularly with ESPN’s First Take. Recently, reports suggested that he is pursuing a new podcast deal worth over $100 million.
