Eagles Quarterback Jalen Hurts Ruled Out with Concussion

In a significant setback for the Philadelphia Eagles, quarterback Jalen Hurts was ruled out of their Sunday game against the Washington Commanders due to a concussion.

The injury occurred during the first quarter when Hurts was hit at the end of a 13-yard run. Although he attempted to continue, he was evaluated in the blue medical tent and ultimately escorted to the locker room for further assessment. This decision was made official early in the second quarter.

Stepping in for Hurts, backup quarterback Kenny Pickett took over and quickly highlighted his skills by throwing a touchdown pass to A.J. Brown, extending the Eagles’ lead to 14-0.

However, Pickett’s next series was marred by an interception, providing the Commanders an opportunity to re-enter the game. Washington capitalized on this with QB Jayden Daniels finding Jamison Crowder for a touchdown, narrowing the deficit to 7 points.

Before exiting, Hurts completed one of his four passes for 11 yards and had 41 rushing yards on three attempts. He has been instrumental in leading his team through a record-setting 10-game winning streak this season.

The Eagles still have a chance to clinch the NFC East title in this match against the Commanders despite the absence of their star quarterback.
