Bravo has officially announced a new direction for its long-running reality series Vanderpump Rules, set to enter its 12th season. Following a tumultuous season 11 filled with tensions and drama, the network is preparing to welcome an entirely new cast, bidding farewell to fan-favorites who have shaped the show since its inception.

On Tuesday, Bravo executives stated that the upcoming season would feature a fresh batch of servers and bartenders under the guidance of the iconic Lisa Vanderpump. The announcement comes on the heels of significant changes following highly publicized controversies, greatly impacting the dynamic of the original cast. In a press release, executives expressed their excitement for this next chapter: ‘What a thrill it is to build on the legacy of this series by doing it all over again,’ said executive producer Alex Baskin.

The previous season spotlighted the dramatic fallout from the infamous #Scandoval, where Tom Sandoval’s affair with cast member Rachel Leviss led to a significant rift within the group. This surprising turn of events resulted in a shift in cast morale, particularly affecting Ariana Madix, who reportedly refused to film alongside Sandoval. Vanderpump noted, ‘The last 12 years of filming have been an extraordinary run full of laughter, tears and everything in between.’

The new season promises to explore the complexities of a new close-knit team, eager to write their own story. Lisa adds, ‘In the restaurant business, one shift always gives way to another. Cheers to the next generation of Vanderpump Rules.’

As production gears up for filming next year, Bravo has indicated that the original cast members will still be celebrated through a retrospective special that looks back on the journey of Vanderpump Rules. While this may mark the end of an era for some, it opens the door for fresh faces and new stories to unfold.

What’s Next for the Original Cast?

Although they are leaving Vanderpump Rules, many of the original stars are poised to remain in the public eye. Some are already featured in other programming within the Bravo network, such as The Valley, which follows former cast members navigating life beyond the cameras.

As viewers anticipate the dynamics of the new ensemble cast, they are reminded of the rollercoaster journey that has defined Vanderpump Rules thus far. Will the new cast capture the hearts of fans just as the original did? Only time will tell.
