Tragic Incident at Abundant Life Christian School
MADISON, Wis. – On Monday, December 16, 2024, the Dane County Sheriff’s office confirmed it is assisting the Madison Police Department with a report of a shooting at Madison Abundant Life Christian School, located at 4901 East Buckeye Road. The call came in around 11 a.m., prompting a swift response from law enforcement and emergency services.
According to preliminary reports, multiple injuries have been confirmed. The Madison Police Department is actively investigating the scene and has urged the public to avoid the 4900 block of East Buckeye Road, which is currently closed to traffic.
As the situation unfolded, the SSM Health/Dean Clinic on Stoughton Road was designated as the reunification area for parents and families of students who may be affected by this tragic event. Law enforcement agencies, including Monona PD and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives, have responded to provide support.
Public Safety Alert Issued
A public safety alert was dispatched to nearby residents at approximately 11:20 a.m., warning them of the police activity and advising them to refrain from entering the area. Witness accounts suggested that gunshots were heard by neighbors shortly before the alerts were sent.
