Details of the Incident

According to officials, the Palm Springs Police Department received a call for help at 5:41 AM on September 10. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man with life-threatening injuries who identified himself as Xol. He was promptly transported to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries ten days later.

Arrest Made

Richard Joseph Gonzalez, 34, was arrested in connection with the incident after he contacted police alleging he had been assaulted. Initially charged with attempted murder, police have since requested that he be charged with murder.

Family’s Statement

In a heartfelt statement, Xol’s family said, ‘We are heartbroken at the tragic loss of our beloved Eduardo Xol. As his family, we know that his kindness has touched the lives of so many. We ask for kindness returned now allowing our privacy to be respected as we process our grief.’ They also requested donations be made to the Lupus Foundation of America in his memory.
