Seeking Irish Citizenship

The 62-year-old star is looking to obtain Irish citizenship since her grandparents hail from the country. O’Donnell shared her reflections on the decision to move, saying, ‘I was never someone who thought I would move to another country, but that’s what I decided would be the best for myself and my 12-year-old child.’

Personal and Political Reflections

In her video, O’Donnell conveyed heartfelt sentiments regarding her family back in the U.S. and the emotional toll of the political situation. ‘It’s been heartbreaking to see what’s happening politically,’ she said, while highlighting her desire to ensure a stable environment for Dakota. She added, ‘When it is safe for all citizens to have equal rights there in America, that’s when we will consider coming back.’

O’Donnell’s journey reflects a growing trend among individuals seeking solace abroad due to political conflicts at home. As she settles into her new life, she remains hopeful for the future of the U.S., stating, ‘I think about everyone every day and I hope we can turn things around.’
