Oregon Ducks Secure Victory Over Washington Huskies

Oregon Ducks Achieve Victory Over Washington to Conclude Undefeated Regular Season

EUGENE — In a commanding performance, the No. 1 Oregon Ducks soared to a 49-21 victory against the Washington Huskies at Autzen Stadium, marking their undefeated regular season.

The Ducks, under the guidance of head coach Dan Lanning, entered the game wanting to exact revenge after their previous loss to Washington in the Pac-12 Championship championship last season. “This was a big game for us; we wanted to close the season strong,” said Lanning.

The team wasted no time, scoring a touchdown on their first drive. Despite Washington’s attempts to stay competitive with field goals, Oregon maintained control and expanded their lead. Key performances included wide receiver Tez Johnson, who returned from injury to contribute significantly, and quarterback Dillon Gabriel, who threw for 209 yards, registering two touchdowns and running for another.

On senior night, the atmosphere at the stadium was electric, fueled by the anticipation of maintaining an undefeated season. “It felt amazing to end our regular season like this,” said Johnson.

Standout Performances

Senior linebacker Bryce Boettcher also stood out, making 11 tackles, a sack, and forcing a fumble that proved pivotal. He remarked on the rivalry, noting, “I hate the Huskies. I’ve never liked them. I was determined to play my best today.” His performance resonated with teammates and fans alike, showcasing his leadership on the field.

Looking Ahead

With this victory, the Ducks have clinched a spot in the upcoming Big Ten Championship against Penn State on December 7th. “We’re excited for the challenge ahead, but we know there’s still more work to be done,” Lanning stated.

The Ducks’ successful season reflects the hard work and determination of the entire team, as they aim for a national title following their undefeated regular season.
