Celtics Star Jayson Tatum Suffers Ankle Injury
Boston Celtics shooting guard Jayson Tatum suffered an ankle injury during a hard-fought game against the Sacramento Kings late Monday night. While many feared the worst, reports suggest that Tatum has avoided serious damage.
The incident occurred as Tatum made a contested 3-pointer. Upon landing, he stepped on the foot of Kings center Domantas Sabonis, leading to a Flagrant 1 foul assessed on Sabonis. Tatum instantly crumpled to the floor in visible pain.

Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla provided an update, saying, ‘He seems to be doing OK. I didn’t see the play but they made the right call. Fortunate that he was able to shoot the free throws. (He’s) taking care of it right now.’
Tatum was evaluated on the court before returning to make one of two free throws, extending the Celtics’ lead. He finished the game with 25 points and was later seen gingerly walking through the locker room.

‘I literally just asked him how he was doing and he said, ‘OK’,’ Mazzulla shared reassuringly. ‘He’ll do anything and everything to make sure he gets better.’ The Celtics went on to win the game with an impressive score of 113-95, solidifying their position as the number two seed in the Eastern Conference.
For the upcoming playoff season, the team’s strategy will be impacted as they closely monitor Tatum’s recovery. Their next game will take place in Phoenix on Wednesday night.
