Julio Cesar Chavez Jr has issued his first statement after his disappointing loss to Jake Paul on Saturday night.

This past Saturday, Jake Paul returned to the boxing ring for the first time since his controversial win over Mike Tyson last November, taking on Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in Anaheim, California.

Once again ‘The Problem Child’ had the fans booing after he dominantly beat the former WBC middleweight champion via a unanimous decision, taking one step closer to his ultimate goal of becoming a world champion.

Following the fight, Paul sent an explicit message to his ‘haters’ after setting a new Honda Center gate record, once again hitting a milestone in his controversial career.

Chavez Jr’s performance was slammed by Jake Paul’s brother Logan Paul, who claimed the Mexican didn’t want to fight and it resulted in an ‘annoying fight for the fans’.

In his post-fight statement, Chavez Jr caused controversy by claiming he ‘could never’ knock out Paul, suggesting the outcome may have been influenced by the judges or his own performance. “I could never knock him out. I couldn’t knock out Jake Paul,” Chavez Jr began to explain on his Instagram story. “Whoever the judges want, wins. I put on a great show and well, I hit him in the ass like I said I was going to. He said he was gonna drive me crazy, no, no. Here I am ready for what’s next, thank you everyone.”

Paul, now 12-1 in his boxing career, made his intentions clear. “I want tougher fighters, and I want to be a world champion,” he stated. Following his victory, Paul faced off with Zurdo Ramirez, the current WBA and WBO cruiserweight champion, and expressed readiness for a title fight. He also mentioned several other champions he is keen to face in future bouts.
