For anyone seeking alternatives to cooking all day on Christmas, the Jackson area has plenty of options. Most restaurants traditionally close on December 25, but a select few will welcome diners on this festive holiday, offering both traditional and non-traditional meals.
While many of the restaurants open on Christmas Day are part of national chains, some beloved local favorites also choose to keep their doors open. Here’s a look at where you can dine in the Jackson area this Christmas:
The Block at Fondren
The Block at Fondren is a collection of five businesses in the historic Fondren district, featuring both revamped favorites and new additions. The Station and Fondren Yard, located at 3025 North State St., will operate from 11 a.m. to midnight on Christmas Day. While the Pearl and Highball Lanes will be closed, Capri Theater will host showings of ‘Mufasa: The Lion King.’
Ding How
Located at 6955 Old Canton Road in Ridgeland, Ding How Asian Bistro will be open on Christmas Day from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Denny’s
Always a reliable option, Denny’s serves meals 24 hours a day, including Christmas Day. Local Denny’s are found at 900 East County Line Road in Ridgeland and 685 U.S.-80 in Pearl, with American classics and all-day breakfast options available.
Wellington’s Buffet at Hilton Jackson
Wellington’s Buffet at the Hilton Jackson Hotel (1001 East County Line Road) will serve breakfast from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Christmas Day.
Hokkaido
Hokkaido Hibachi Grill and Sushi Bar, found at 1029 U.S.-51 in Madison, will be open for lunch from 11 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. and dinner from 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Little Tokyo
Little Tokyo in Fondren (3009 North State St.) will maintain regular hours on Christmas, operating from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Nagoya
Nagoya Japanese Cuisine Restaurant at 111 Colony Crossing Way in Madison will offer traditional Japanese cuisine with a Southern twist on Christmas Day.
Rebecca’s at the Sheraton
Rebecca’s, located on the ground floor of the Sheraton Flowood Refuge Hotel and Conference Center at 2200 Refuge Blvd., will serve holiday meals on Christmas Day. Walk-ins are welcome, or reservations can be made through the Sheraton Flowood website.
Scrooge’s
Lastly, Scrooge’s at 5829 Ridgewood Road in Jackson will be open from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., offering a Christmas meal along with a limited menu.
