Fleur East has taken on a new role as co-host of the popular BBC spin-off show It Takes Two, following Rylan Clark’s departure. Her insights into this transition shine a light on the supportive atmosphere within the show.

In an exclusive interview, East discussed the unique advice given to her by Clark before she took the reins, stating, ‘He said, ‘Just lean into the unique position you’re in because the one benefit for you is that you’ve been on the show so straight away you can identify with every celeb that’s going to sit on that sofa and talk to you’.’ This perspective has been invaluable to her as she navigates her new hosting responsibilities.

Reflecting on her experience competing in the show during the 2022 season, she recalls the emotional weight of each episode. ‘For example, when it was leading up to the final, I remember what it was like being a celeb in the competition and having to learn three dances,’ East shared. ‘Even the little things like hearing the VT just before you dance and getting emotional, things like that.’

The event promises musical performances from various artists, celebrating the achievements and community impact funded by the National Lottery.

East expressed her enthusiasm, stating, ‘It was just nice to look over all the amazing moments we’ve had through the year and celebrate some of the people that have been doing some amazing work for their communities as well.’ This perspective reinforces the show’s commitment to acknowledging the vital work of charities and organizations funded by the lottery.

The National Lottery’s New Year’s Eve Big Bash is set to air on ITV1 from 5.45 PM, or viewers can catch up on ITVX.
