Eric Dane Reveals His ALS Diagnosis
In a candid revelation, Eric Dane, the 52-year-old actor known for his roles in Euphoria and Grey’s Anatomy, has disclosed that he has been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), commonly referred to as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
In an interview with People, Dane stated, ‘I have been diagnosed with ALS. I am grateful to have my loving family by my side as we navigate this next chapter.’ He emphasized his desire to remain active in his career, noting that he will return to the set of Euphoria next week to continue filming the much-anticipated third season.
ALS is a serious condition impacting the nervous system, leading to the degeneration of nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, which causes a gradual loss of muscle control over time. According to the Mayo Clinic, the disease does not currently have a cure, making continued progress in research critical.
