Trump’s New Counselor: Alina Habba
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — President-elect Donald Trump has formally announced the appointment of Alina Habba, a key attorney in his defense against legal challenges, as his Counselor to the President. Known for her tireless advocacy and unwavering loyalty, Habba has been by Trump’s side throughout significant legal battles.
At 40 years old, Habba has established herself as a prominent figure in Trump’s legal team, having served as his defense attorney during his hush money case in New York. Trump praised Habba in a post on Truth Social, stating: ‘She has been unwavering in her loyalty and unmatched in her resolve — standing with me through numerous trials, battles, and countless days in Court.’
Habba’s experience includes a successful defense strategy in a defamation lawsuit involving Summer Zervos, a former contestant on “The Apprentice,” who accused Trump of assault. Under her guidance, the suit was dropped. Habba is also known for her role in Trump’s ongoing legal disputes with his niece, Mary Trump.
Previously, the role of Counselor to the President was held by Kellyanne Conway during Trump’s first term. Habba’s appointment comes at a pivotal time as Trump plans his strategy for a 2024 presidential campaign.
Additional Appointments in Trump’s Team
In conjunction with Habba’s appointment, Trump has revealed several other key nominations for his administration, including Michael Anton as Director of Policy Planning at the State Department and Michael Needham as counselor at the State Department.
Christopher Landau, former ambassador to Mexico, is slated to become Deputy Secretary of State, further consolidating Trump’s administration with familiar faces and loyal allies in strategic positions.
These announcements emphasize Trump’s focus on building a team that reflects his political vision and aspirations for the upcoming election cycle.
