Celebrating the 2025 Rose Parade: A Day of Festivity and Tribute

Pasadena, CA – The 2025 Rose Parade kicked off at 8:00 a.m. sharp, enveloping the streets of Pasadena with a vibrant celebration marked by enchanting floats, spirited marching bands, and thrilling equestrian displays. This year’s theme is ‘Best Day Ever,’ drawing in crowds eager to witness the spectacular event.

Among the highlights, a dramatic flyover from a B-2 Stealth bomber captured the attention of the audience, setting the tone for a day filled with excitement and awe.

„We are thrilled to welcome legendary Billie Jean King as the Grand Marshal of the 2025 Rose Parade,” said Ed Morales, Tournament of Roses President. „Her trailblazing work has elevated women in sports and inspired countless best days ever for athletes and fans around the globe.”

An ‘Opening Spectacular’ featured the energetic Kiesza performing her iconic hit ‘Hideaway’ along with Aloe Blacc’s ‘Wake Me Up,’ both accompanied by striking light displays and choreography on Honda’s float, aptly named ‘Electrified Dreams.’

This year’s floats, boasting intricate designs crafted from organic materials, come from various organizations, companies, and international delegations and adhere strictly to the parade’s guidelines.

Leading this colorful procession are 20 marching bands representing educational institutions and military groups, with some traveling from as far as Japan and Europe. Each band showcases a mix of traditional and contemporary music, enhancing the parade’s festive atmosphere.

Adding to the revelry, 16 equestrian groups participated, showcasing riders in traditional attire alongside their beautifully adorned horses, reminiscent of the parade’s inception back in 1890.

As the parade made its way through Pasadena, it also recognized a recent tragedy in New Orleans. Prior to the event, Tournament of Roses organizers expressed their condolences for the victims of a pickup incident that left at least 10 dead and many injured. In a statement, they said, ‘We extend our deepest sympathies to the people of Louisiana and the city of New Orleans following this morning’s tragic events.’”

In a show of solidarity amidst the festive spirit, safety measures along the parade route included strict law enforcement presence to ensure a secure environment for attendees. The day concluded with a star-studded finale, featuring pop icon Debbie Gibson and festivities culminating in the annual Rose Bowl Game that follows the parade.

For those unable to attend, the parade is streaming live for audiences nationwide, offering a glimpse into this cherished annual tradition.
