Hudson Meek: A Rising Star’s Untimely Passing

Hudson Meek, a talented young actor, tragically passed away on December 22, 2024, at the tender age of 16. Known for his role as the younger version of Ansel Elgort’s character in the acclaimed action film ‘Baby Driver,’ Meek’s life has been cut short following a tragic accident.
The incident occurred on December 19 in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, where he sustained severe injuries after falling from a moving vehicle. Reports indicate that Hudson sustained “blunt force injuries” and was taken to a local hospital where he sadly succumbed to his injuries a few days later.
His family informed fans of the heartbreaking news through Meek’s Instagram account, stating, ‘Our hearts are broken to share that Hudson Meek went home to be with Jesus tonight. His 16 years on this earth were far too short, but he accomplished so much and significantly impacted everyone he met.’
Hudson Meek began his acting career in 2014 with the Lifetime film ‘The Santa Con,’ and he appeared in various shows and movies including ‘Genius,’ ‘MacGyver,’ and ‘The School Duet.’ His breakout role in ‘Baby Driver’ in 2017 garnered him considerable recognition in the entertainment industry.
Following his passing, Vestavia Hills police are investigating the circumstances of the tragic accident. The family plans to hold a Celebration of Hudson’s Life on December 28 and is encouraging contributions towards a scholarship in his memory at Vestavia Hills High School in lieu of flowers. They expressed hope for prayers for strength during this challenging time.
