The Big 12 announced its conference awards on Thursday and the Arizona State football team was very well represented in the honors.
However, ASU football fans were left fuming over a perceived snub of one of their players.
Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders took home the Big 12 Football Offensive Player of the Year award, which did not sit well with Sun Devils fans.
On social media, supporters expressed their displeasure that ASU running back Cam Skattebo, who earned the conference’s Offensive Player of the Week five times this season, did not receive the Offensive Player of the Year accolade.
Sanders completed 74.2% of his passes, throwing for 3,926 yards and 35 touchdowns, with just eight interceptions over 12 games for the 9-3 Buffaloes.
In contrast, Skattebo rushed for 1,398 yards and 17 touchdowns in 11 games, contributing significantly to the Sun Devils’ remarkable 10-2 regular season. Additionally, he caught 35 passes for 468 yards and two touchdowns.

Furthermore, Leavitt earned a spot as a Second-Team QB, alongside TE Chamon Metayer, DL C.J. Fite, and LB Keyshaun Elliott, who also received second-team nominations.
