The beloved Superstar of Philippine movies, Nora Aunor, passed away on April 16, 2025, at the age of 71. Her son, Ian De Leon, broke the news on Facebook, sharing heartfelt memories of his mother.

‘She was the heart of our family—a source of unconditional love, strength, and warmth. Her kindness, wisdom, and beautiful spirit touched everyone who knew her. She will be missed beyond words and remembered forever,’ he wrote.

Further expressing his emotions, De Leon added, ‘We love you Ma… alam ng Diyos kung gano ka namin ka mahal… pahinga ka na po Ma… nandito ka lang sa puso at isipan namin.’

Nora Aunor’s daughter, Matet De Leon, also honored her mother on Instagram, sharing cherished moments from her wedding and declaring, ‘I love you mommy.’

Aunor, who was named National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts in 2022, was celebrated for her iconic roles in acclaimed films such as “Himala,” “Bona,” and “Minsa’y Isang Gamu-gamo.”

Her final screen appearances included the horror film “Mananambal” alongside Bianca Umali and the movie “Pieta.” Furthermore, she graced the GMA Afternoon Prime series “Lilet Matias: Attorney-at-Law,” showcasing her enduring presence in the industry.

Aunor’s legacy is not only defined by her performances but also by the profound impact she had on her family and fans alike.
