At least four hospitalized after Wilmer-Hutchins High School shooting
At least four individuals were taken to the hospital following a shooting incident at Wilmer-Hutchins High School in Dallas on Tuesday afternoon. Authorities reported that the victims were aged between 15 and 18, with injuries ranging from serious to non-life-threatening.
The Dallas Police Department received reports of the shooting at around 1 p.m. at the school located at 5500 Langdon Road. Although the situation created panic among students and staff, police confirmed around 2:20 p.m. that there was no ongoing threat to the community.
Emergency response teams, including Dallas Fire-Rescue and ATF agents, were quickly deployed to the scene. Eyewitness accounts revealed that students exited the building calmly, walking toward nearby Eagle Stadium for reunification with their families.
The Dallas Independent School District (DISD) assured the public that all students and staff at Wilmer-Hutchins High School were safe, directing parents to meet their children at the stadium.
To add to the community’s stress, this incident occurs nearly a year after another shooting at the same high school. In April 2024, a student was shot in a classroom, raising further concerns about school security.
As investigations continue, police have yet to release details regarding the suspect’s identity or any potential arrests.
