Ravens Sign DeAndre Hopkins: A New Era in Baltimore

The Baltimore Ravens made headlines recently by signing veteran wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, as confirmed by Dianna Russini of The Athletic. This move is aimed at bolstering the Ravens’ offense ahead of the 2025 NFL season.

The contract for Hopkins is set at a base value of $5 million, with an additional $1 million available through incentives, as reported by Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic. The seasoned receiver will reunite with former teammate Derrick Henry and team up with MVP-winning quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Hopkins’ career has seen a mix of ups and downs, starting with his rookie season in 2013 when he was selected first overall by the Houston Texans. After a breakout year in 2014, he became a staple in the league, accumulating multiple Pro Bowl selections. His journey included a surprising trade to the Arizona Cardinals in 2020, following which he enjoyed a stellar 2021 season, earning yet another Pro Bowl nod.

Despite struggling with injuries over the past two seasons, he managed to have a significant impact during his time with the Kansas City Chiefs, where he netted 41 receptions for 437 yards and four touchdowns in the regular season.

In Baltimore, he joins a strong receiving corps that includes promising talents such as Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman, as well as talented tight ends Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely. This addition is expected to enhance the Ravens’ passing game, contributing significantly as a complementary weapon in a high-powered offense that features the rushing talents of Jackson and Henry.
