Gilgeous-Alexander’s Standout Performance

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was instrumental in the Thunder’s win, finishing with 40 points, eight rebounds, and five assists. His nine consecutive points late in the fourth quarter were pivotal, eliminating any chances for a Nuggets comeback.

This impressive performance marked the 11th 40-point game for Gilgeous-Alexander this season, as he continues to solidify his standing in the MVP race against fellow candidate Nikola Jokic, who recorded 24 points, 13 rebounds, and nine assists in a respectable effort despite a right elbow injury.

Fourth-Quarter Domination

The Thunder outshined the Nuggets in the fourth quarter, beginning with a crucial 9-0 run. Gilgeous-Alexander, exhibiting sharp shooting skills, contributed a late three-pointer that extended the lead decisively.

As the game concluded, the Thunder enhanced their Western Conference-best record to 53-11, while the Nuggets fell to 41-23, pushing them 12 games back in the standings.
