The Louisiana State Police have issued an arrest warrant for Kyren Lacy, a wide receiver for the LSU Tigers, on charges of negligent homicide and felony hit-and-run. The charges arise from a tragic event that took place on December 17, 2024, which resulted in the death of a 78-year-old man, Herman Hall.

According to a report from the Louisiana State Police, Lacy was behind the wheel of a 2023 Dodge Charger at the time of the incident. It is alleged that he was driving recklessly, passing multiple vehicles at a high rate of speed and crossing into oncoming traffic in a designated no-passing zone. Witness accounts and the investigation indicated that as Lacy attempted to pass, a northbound pickup truck swerved to avoid an accident, which resulted in colliding with another vehicle, ultimately leading to Hall’s fatal injuries.

Following the crash, it is reported that Lacy fled the scene without providing aid or notifying authorities of the incident. The investigation confirmed that Lacy was the driver involved, prompting the arrest warrant to be issued.

Agent Rocky Arceneaux, Lacy’s representative, stated that “Kyren is cooperating with the authorities. We respect the need for a full and thorough investigation and believe that the facts will ultimately demonstrate the truth.”

In the aftermath of the incident, Lacy announced his declaration for the 2025 NFL Draft just two days after the crash. He is currently in discussions with authorities about turning himself in to the police.

Lacy had an impressive football career at LSU, emerging as one of the team’s top receivers. He recorded 58 receptions for 866 yards and nine touchdowns in the 2024 season alone, contributing significantly to the team’s performance.

This situation has raised concerns in the community and among LSU supporters, who are closely watching the developments following this tragic incident. The Louisiana State Police have confirmed ongoing communications with Lacy’s legal team as they navigate the investigation processes.
