Former NHL Player Paul Bissonnette Involved in Restaurant Altercation
Former NHL player and current hockey analyst Paul Bissonnette was reportedly involved in a violent altercation at a Scottsdale, Arizona restaurant on Sunday night. The incident occurred at Houston’s restaurant and involved multiple men, resulting in several arrests.
Bissonnette took to social media to share his account of the event, explaining that he intervened after witnessing one of the patrons becoming physical with the restaurant’s manager. He noted, ‘I saw someone getting in the manager’s face and putting their hands on him. It continued for about 30-45 seconds.’
According to police reports, as Bissonnette attempted to assist the manager, the situation escalated into a physical confrontation, spilling out of the restaurant and into the parking lot. ‘I ended up fighting seven guys throughout the course of the incident,’ Bissonnette described.
The Scottsdale police confirmed that six suspects were arrested following the incident, facing charges that included assault and disorderly conduct. Bissonnette disclosed that he sustained non-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
During his NHL career, which spanned from 2008 to 2014, Bissonnette was known for his time with the Arizona Coyotes. He has since transitioned to a career in sports commentary and podcasting.
